RB Leipzig win in their debut appearance<\/strong><\/p>

After two exciting and high-class days, the German Bundesliga team RB Leipzig emerged as a more than deserving tournament winner with their final victory against Grasshoppers Zurich.<\/p>

Under perfect conditions, with great weather and two excellent pitches, the numerous spectators witnessed the excitement of the competition from the first match, as only the top two teams from the four preliminary groups made it to the top 8, where the finalists were determined in the intermediate round.<\/p>

After an exciting Phase 1 of the preliminary round, eight teams qualified for the top half to compete for the tournament victory. Among the eight teams were three from Austria and five international representatives. The intermediate round was characterized from the beginning by the battle for the four coveted semifinal spots. After an intense group phase, the four semifinalists were determined \u2013 Glasgow Rangers, RB Leipzig, FC Basel, and Grasshoppers Zurich. In the thrilling semifinals, RB Leipzig defeated the Scots 2-1. In the second semifinal, the Grasshoppers won the Swiss duel 1-0.<\/p>

Then came the placement matches, with the grand final serving as a worthy conclusion. In front of a full crowd, RB Leipzig was also the better team in this match and deservedly won 3-2 against the Swiss.<\/p>

The 28th edition of the Dr. Nimmrichter Memorial Tournament will be remembered by all participating teams, spectators, and sports enthusiasts as a unique event. Satisfied participants, who congratulated the organizing team on a great tournament and expressed their desire to return in 2025, are the greatest and best confirmation for the organizer. The sporting highlight from the organizer’s perspective was the 2-0 victory of NSG Leonhofen against SC Heerenveen.<\/p>
